Originally from South Africa, I met my Zimbabwean husband at the University of Natal, Pietermaritzburg whilst studying a Bachelor of Commerce degree – majoring in Marketing and Advertising and Economics. We have 3 daughters who keep us very busy!
When I first came to Zimbabwe I worked for Green Route, the leading DMC in Southern Africa. The groups I oversaw and assisted on ranged from 20 to 300 people. It was very rewarding to watch a “group” transform from just an idea to having the people arrive and be part of their fantastic African experience. It was wonderful to see the looks of utter awe of many a traveller. From the placing of pillow gifts to the closing of gala events, from activities galore to many a jump at the sound of a lion roar, each and every episode made an impression!
Since I left Green Route, I have been involved in organising and co-ordinating events such as golf days, sports days, and gala events for various associations. I worked as a Marketing Consultant on various projects including new product launches, product re-branding, copy-writing and other assignments. I’m very glad to be back in tourism as part of the dynamic Travel Portfolio team.
I enjoy tennis, yoga, pilates and running. I love old-fashioned board games, cards and puzzles and, lo and behold – I knit!! I enjoy houseboat trips on Lake Kariba where I try my hand at fishing – and weekends away to the serenity of the Eastern Highlands.
